Trama

This book presents the figure of Giovanni Jacopo Dionisi Veronese (1724-1808), author of a series of works by Dante criticism, through a bio-bibliographical framework, a census of the vast collection of letters, as yet largely unpublished, and a budget of all its proposals relating to the exegetical and textual Comedy at Convivio and in the light of more recent criticism. The proposed interpretative and textual Dionisi on the Comedy have been largely transposed by subsequent studies, but until now there was no clear understanding of the dimensions of the phenomenon, and about the less known emendations to the text of the Convivio, is highlighted as many of them have been tacitly assumed by the "editors Milanese" (Giovanni Antonio Maggi, Vincenzo Monti, Gian Giacomo Trivulzio) in their 1827 edition of the Convivio, only to be accepted even in the last edition of Dante's treatise. To this end, we examine some materials stored at the Library Trivulziana of Milan: the annotated manuscript and a preparatory compiled by Maggi, Monti and Trivulzio, of which it provides partial edition.
