Trama

Al centro del Navigator di New York c'è la rivalità tra Robert Peary e Frederick Cook per essere il primo americano a raggiungere il Polo Nord. Il suo protagonista, tuttavia, è Devlin Stead, un giovane di St John's, Terranova. La madre di Devlin muore, in circostanze misteriose, quando ha solo cinque anni, e sopporta un'infanzia solitaria prima di scoprire la verità sulla sua parentela.
