Trama

John Lackland nacque da re Enrico II ed Eleanor, duchessa di Aquitane nel dicembre 1166; era il più giovane di cinque figli. Tuttavia, divenne inaspettatamente l'erede favorito di suo padre dopo una ribellione fallita da parte dei suoi fratelli maggiori nel 1173. Divenne re nel 1199, anche se il suo regno era tumultuoso e breve.
